Rains Cause Damage in Masvingo

Yesterday, heavy rains fell on Masvingo, leading to significant damage due to the city’s inadequate drainage systems. Despite ongoing maintenance efforts by Masvingo City, progress has been frustratingly slow. Residents are increasingly concerned about the recurring flooding as the rainy season intensifies.

Residents expressed their frustrations during interviews with Wezhira Community Radio. They highlighted that the city council fails to implement permanent solutions to the flooding problems that plague their neighborhoods every year. The slow pace of drainage improvements has left many feeling vulnerable as they face another season of potential water damage.

With the rains now in full swing, there is a growing demand for immediate and effective action from local authorities. Residents are urging the council to prioritize drainage upgrades to prevent future disasters and ensure community safety.
